Focus on cutting and shaping methods, different types of glass tesserae, and tools for interior and exterior use. Bring an object of surface to mosaic to the first class. Eye ware is provided.

Printmaking: Introduction to Relief Prints

Experiment with a variety of traditional printmaking techniques with an emphasis on relief prints. Make single color and multi-color prints using Safety Kut, linoleum, and traditional woodcut plates. Develop your sensitivity to line variation and mark making from delicate to dramatic.

Improvisational Sculpture Workshop

Mural Painting Workshop: Codex Glyph Symbols
Nora Chapa Mendoza
The glyph is a symbolic typeface the Mayans and Aztecs engraved in rock faces to tell stories. Participants will collaborate on a large painted mural, and collage together ancient glyph symbols with a symbol of their own design. Symbols will be painted on one large class canvas using abstract and glyph painting techniques. Acrylic paints, supplies and lunch will be provided. Students may bring personal canvases and materials if desired.
