K-12 Programs

Gallery Lessons
Gallery lessons are designed to include concepts and skills appropriate to students' grade level. Grades K-2: Lessons last from 45-60 minutes; one chaperone is required for every 10 students. Grades 3-12: Lessons last from 60-90 minutes;
one chaperone is required for every 15 students. Group size is limited to 60 students.

ArtFor Programs
ArtFor programs combine object centered learning and a related visual arts activity. Please allow 1½ to 2 hours for the program. Group size is limited to 60 students.
$2 per student

Studio Lessons
Studio lessons are presented in the FIA studios by staff artist/ educators. Program content and materials will be adjusted to suit your needs. Please allow 45-60 minutes for each program. Group size is limited to 25 students. Projects will be created by students and then fired by FIA staff. They will be ready for pick up in 2-3 weeks.

OnePlus Programs
Offering in-depth study of a particular theme, OnePlus programs are multi-part units that incorporate math, science, social studies, and language arts curricula. Specific content is planned in conjunction with the classroom teacher. Programs take place in the school and at the FIA. An FIA educator will be assigned to your class and will meet you at your school to plan the specifics of your program. Maximum group size is 30 students. Limited to schools in Genesee County.
$3 per student

b.a.s.i.c. Program
The b.a.s.i.c. program (Bringing Art to Students, Instructors, and Curricula) integrates visual arts instruction with core subjects and is focused around important themes or enduring ideas. Using an inquiry-based approach that accommodates diverse learning styles, this yearlong program addresses
Michigan curriculum standards in language arts, social studies, math, science, and thevisual arts. For more information contact the Education department at (810) 237.7315.

Educator Workshops
Educator workshops are designed for pre- and in-service teachers, home school parents, and volunteers. State Board-Continuing Education Unit credit is now available through the University of Michigan-Flint. Contact (810) 237.7315 or arted@flintarts.org for more information.

Self-Guided Visits/Scheduling
Self-guided visits must be scheduled one month in advance and are available during regular operating hours only.
