Addie Langford

Assistant Director of the FIA Art School, received a BFA in architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA in ceramics from The Cranbrook Academy of Art. As a Fulbright Scholar from 2006-2007, Addie studied Renaissance tapestry and its relationship to collage in Madrid, Spain and exhibited a body of drawings reflecting her research. She was recently awarded a scholarship from ArtServe Michigan to attend the Community Arts Leadership Academy. Addie has seven years experience teaching students from kindergarten through college. Her drawings and mixed media sculpture are housed in two prominent Michigan collections and exhibited throughout the region. The drawings are large-scale gouache and graphite works on paper and her next body of sculpture will be constructed mainly from paper, porcelain, and stitched textiles.
