Planned Giving
& Renaissance Society
This year, the Flint Institute of Arts is thrilled to revive the legacy group known as the Renaissance Society. The group gives patrons the chance to preserve and strengthen one of Flint’s cultural gems by way of a gift or through estate planning.
This opportunity not only honors the FIA and members of our ever-growing family, but ensures the visions of growth and achievement set by our benefactors. The rebirth of this Society allows the Institute to acknowledge three staff members who, years ago, established planned gifts to the FIA.
We would like to recognize and thank Judy Irwin, the Director’s Administrative Assistant, Michael Melenbrink, the Director of Finance and Administration and Kathryn Sharbaugh, the Director of Development, for making a legacy gift.
Last year, Judy and her husband realized that the FIA had become a large part of their lives. “We both love working here among the artwork and with such wonderful, supportive staff.” After working with John Henry and Kathryn Sharbaugh on the successful Capital and Endowment Campaigns, “the natural result was to change our trust documents to include the FIA as a recipient of a portion of our remaining assets.”
