The Artist
Born in Madras, India in 1944 and raised in Egypt and Australia, Richard Bosman studied at the Byam Shaw School Painting and Drawing in London from 1965–69, and at the New York Studio School from 1969–71, studying with Philip Guston and Alex Katz. His paintings and prints have been exhibited in galleries and museums in the United States, Europe, Japan, and Australia.
Over the years, Bosman has explored subject matter ranging from tranquil landscapes and seascapes to harrowing depictions of people caught in dire circumstances. This compelling print possesses the ambiguous, often unsettling
quality that is characteristic of Bosman’s masterful visual storytelling. At once ordinary and enigmatic, Bosman’s deceptively simple image will continue to challenge the viewer to decipher its true meaning.
Richard Bosman’s Fast Runner lithograph measures 24 x 18 inches and is printed on Sekishu paper. The edition is limited to 100 with 10 artist proofs, 10 publisher proofs, and 2 presentation proofs.
