The Flint Institute of Arts is committed to promoting understanding and enjoyment of the visual arts through high quality programs. Our programs invite people to gain greater understanding and enjoyment of the FIA’s outstanding permanent collection and special exhibitions. They are designed to present learning opportunities that are rich in content and stimulate imagination, thought and creativity.

Master of Ceremonies Cathy Lancaster presides over activities which include a keynote address from Dr. Lawrence Reynolds, President and CEO of Mott Children’s Hospital, a reenactment of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech, and a musical performance by Nannette and Gil Benman. More info »

Enjoy a step performance by the Gamma Delta Kudos and the Kappa Leadership League during a reception with refreshments provided by The Palette Café. In the FIA Art School, construct a hanging work of art which incorporates the symbols of love, hope, and peace associated with Dr. King.

If you are an FIA member at the Sustainer, Sponsor, Donor, or Rubens Society level, as you plan your road trip, plane trip, or day trip, be sure to take your FIA membership card. At these membership levels, your FIA card allows you admission to more than 800 participating museums in the U.S., Canada, El Salvador, Mexico, and Bermuda.

Just present your membership card validated with the gold North American Reciprocal sticker to receive membership privileges (guests are not included).
