This piece is a model of a larger public sculpture that was commissioned from sculptor, Duayne Hatchett for the Flint Bicentennial Commission’s efforts to enrich the river front area of downtown Flint, as part of their River front Beautification Plan. The maquette represents the elegant abstract form. Its geometric form creates elegant positive and negative shapes in space. The public sculpture could not survive the elements, and was later taken down and removed from its site, however its beautiful form persists in this smaller version of the artist’s vision.
