Homeschool Programs

Ages 3-18

Give your child the best in art education with our classes designed especially for homeschoolers. Your child will gain visual literacy, problem solving, art making, and analytical skills needed to express knowledge and ideas. Our homeschool classes combine looking experiences in the museum galleries and art making lessons in the studio using clay, glass, weaving, painting, printmaking, and drawing media. Choose from monthly and three-part programs for ages 6-18. Weekly programs are offered for ages 3-5. Parents who welcome to register and participate alongside their child. 

  • Registration deadline for each program is one week before the start of the program.
  • Refunds are not given after the first class meeting. 
  • A 50% charge will be withheld for cancellations made within four days prior to the start of the program.

Homeschool programs meet on Monday mornings and include monthly classes and three-part workshops. Separate classes are offered for ages 3-5, 6-8, and 9-18.

Storytime with Art

Ages 3-5

Foster a love of literature and art in your child at the museum! During Storytime we will look at the Artwork of the Week, listen to a related storybook in the galleries, and create a work of art of our own in the studio. Recommended for children ages 3-5, but all are welcome. Parents who wish to attend and work alongside their child need to register as well.

Monthly Programs

Your child will enjoy a multifaceted art education experience during our monthly programs. Students explore the FIA galleries and special exhibitions to discover how artists communicate with visual images. Along with each visit to the gallery, students learn hands-on skills and techniques related to a wide variety of media including drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, and printmaking. Parents who wish to attend and work alongside their child need to register as well.

3-Part Programs

Ages 6-18

Give your child the opportunity to develop art skills through in-depth 3-part programs. Students explore how artists communicate through visual images in the FIA galleries. In the studio. they'll hone drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and ceramics skills as they make their own artworks and communicate their ideas and feelings about themselves and the world around us.
