Spring Break Special

Spice up your "stay"-cation with some quality family time at the FIA during Spring Break! Explore a different art medium each day of the week and create your own masterpieces to take home. 

Morning Stories
Recommended for families with children ages 3 - 5

Tues & Thurs 11am-11:45am Galleries & Studio

Listen to a story, look at art and create an artwork of your own. Different stories each day. Recommended for ages 3 to 5, but all are welcome. Free of charge.

Tuesday:
Listen to Planting a Rainbow by Lois Ehlert, look at artworks with flowers in the galleries, and create a spring-inspired artwork of your own in the studio.

Thursday:
Listen to Little Cloud by Eric Carle, look at landscapes with clouds in the galleries, and create clouds that look like anything you can imagine in the studio. 
Afternoon Studio 
Recommended for families with children ages 5 - 10

Mon-Fri 1pm-4pm Studio

Drop in between 1pm and 4pm to make your own art. Different projects each day. Recommended for ages 5 to 10, but all are welcome. Free of charge.

Monday
Learn some basic techniques and explore the endless possibilities of creation with the Crayola modeling clay Model Magic.

Tuesday
Go under the sea and learn watercolor techniques to create an imagined underwater world.

Wednesday
Design your own stained glass window and create it using tracing paper and markers.

Thursday
Get inspired by paperweights in the museum collection and use styrofoam and markers to create a printed design with radial symmetry. 

Friday
Imagine you discovered a brand new animal and create it out of different kinds of patterned and textured papers. 

Programs are recommended for families with children in the age ranges specified, but all are welcome. Registration is not required.
