|Event Type||Coffee with a Curator, Educational Lectures|
|Date||Monday, March 14, 2022|
|Time||10:30am - 11:30am (1h)|
In celebration of Women's History Month, we will focus on a portrait of one of the most famous and powerful women in history--Queen of Egypt Cleopatra VII--painted by a woman artist living and working in Bologna, Italy--Elisabeth Sirani. This talk by Curator of Collections and Exhibitions Tracee Glab will take a look at the life of the painter, as well as the infamous episode in history that she depicts.
Coffee with a Curator is a focused, theme-oriented presentation on a variety of topics related to the FIA’s permanent collection and special exhibitions. Presented by an FIA’s curators or an invited speaker, each talk allows time for questions or gallery exploration as well as coffee and tea service. The inaugural series of Coffee with a Curator explores “Nature and Its Symbols,” the relationship of art with nature, both real and imaginative.
