Located in the park-like setting of the Flint Cultural Center, the FIA can accommodate a variety of events, from large, elegant occasions to small, intimate gatherings. Experience the breathtaking glass façade and grand lobby, great hall, theater, and fully equipped multimedia boardroom for a significant ambiance. The museum's gorgeous, distinctive spaces are sure to make your event a memorable affair.

Museum Galleries
Museum Galleries
The FIA galleries are host to one of Michigan’s most important art collections. They are available to rent after hours for guests to stroll and enjoy the art at your special event. Inquire about a guided Director’s tour or docent tours for your group. Up to 100 audio guides are available for a self-guided tour. Galleries are not available for rent during normal business hours. Regular gallery hours are Monday-Saturday 10:00 am-5:00 pm and Sunday 1:00 pm-5:00 pm. Food and drink are not permitted.

The reception hall is perfect for meetings, presentations, luncheons, dinners

and gala events. Sophisticated neutral finishes provide an adaptable atmosphere for any occasion or color theme and comfortable padded chairs and round tables are available for a multitude of room configurations. Expansive windows fill the space with light, or the room can be darkened by shades when multimedia equipment is in use. Equipped with state-of-the-art audio and visual systems - images, presentations, films, and videos can be projected through a retractable ceiling mounted projector to a 10’ x 16’ retractable screen or a 15’ x 20’ floor to ceiling projection wall. Programmable multicolor LED perimeter lighting sets Isabel Hall’s capabilities apart from any other venue in Genesee County.

Capacity: 330 theater-style seating
The FIA Theater is equipped with a state-of-the-art surround sound system, an 8’7” x 20’2” retractable projection screen, and a 14’ x 42’ stage. The backdrop for the stage is a spectacular light painting by Stephen Knapp and is a perfect space for award ceremonies, lectures, and films. Food and drink are not permitted.

The Lobby provides a gorgeous façade with skylights that fill the open space with light. Permanent installations include sculptures by Calder, Chihuly, and Pfaff. It may be rented in conjunction with Isabel Hall and/or the FIA Theater if needed. The Lobby is not available for rent during normal business hours.

This elegant room is prepared for small business gatherings with a large meeting table, comfortable sofas, benches, and side chairs. Luxurious modern décor, custom built art niches and a retractable presentation screen are sure to impress your clients. Food and drink are not permitted.

Sheppy Dog Meeting Room
Capacity: 30 seated at meeting table, 45 auditorium style
The Meeting Room is perfect for lectures, group meetings, or other small events. It offers audio, visual, and multimedia capabilities in a classroom style setting.
Hurand Sculpture Courtyard

This open-air courtyard is available for small outdoor gatherings seasonally and is known for its contemporary large-scale sculptures.

How do I reserve space at the museum?

To inquire about renting space, please fill out the Private Event Request Form. If a preferred date is available, the FIA will hold it for two weeks while you review your estimate. If you choose to move forward with the event a 50% deposit will be due with signature of the event agreement.

Do I need to be a museum member to rent space for my event?

No, non-members may rent space for their event.

What’s included in the rental fee?

The rental fee includes use of the facility as described in the FIA Rental Policy, the event space, tables and chairs set in a customized layout by the FIA Events Coordinator, and FIA Events Staff and Security.

Do you offer a discount to non-profits?

The FIA offers a 25% discount on room rental fees only to non-profits with proof of 501(c)(3) stature.

What time is the facility available to rent?

The facility is available to rent daily, 12:00 am-11:59 pm, with the exception of holiday closures on New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve.

Will the galleries be open during my event?

You may pay normal admission fees at the Visitor Services desk to view the galleries during your event. If you would like the galleries open after hours it is an additional rental charge. Monday-Saturday 10:00am-5:00pm and Sunday 1:00 pm-5:00pm. The museum has new evening hours on Thursdays until 8:00pm. 

Can I bring my family reunion or other large group?

Yes, the facility can accommodate large groups in a variety of settings.

Can I have my religious wedding ceremony here?

Yes, the FIA is happy to host wedding ceremonies and receptions for all religious denominations.

Can I hold my wedding outside? Is there a contingency plan for rain?

The Courtyard is available for wedding ceremonies. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be moved into the Theater.

Can we serve alcohol at our event?

The FIA retains a Class C liquor license and by law must provide any liquor, beer, and/or wine used at any function held at the FIA. Bar options include a cash bar, host bar, or combination of both. 

Can I bring my own vendors?

Yes, vendors not listed on the FIA Preferred Vendor Lists must be licensed and approved by the FIA. An additional fee will be added to the event rental for selecting a vendor that is not listed on the FIA Preferred Vendor List.

Can I bring in my own displays?

Displays are allowed at the discretion of the FIA and advanced notice must be given.

What parking is available to guests of my event?

35 parking spaces are accessible in the North parking lot and 37 parking spaces are available in the South parking lot. Contiguous overflow parking is available.

Can I add tours, glassblowing demos, or other FIA activities to my event?

Yes, please contact the FIA Events Department to discuss your idea.

Are there any restrictions in renting museum space?

Yes, please see the FIA Facility Rental Policy for restrictions.
