Details | Artist Alexis Rockman will talk about the making of The Great Lakes Cycle, from his initial research trip around the lakes to the making of the work. This talk will be followed by a q-and-a with Curator of Collections and Exhibitions Tracee Glab. If you miss the live stream, a recorded version will be available. More details to come. A New York-based artist whose work is in numerous public collections, including the Brooklyn Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and The Guggenheim, Rockman collaborated with Oscar-winning director Ang Lee from 2009–2019 on the film Life of Pi, serving as an “inspirational artist.” His paintings envision future landscapes affected by climate change. Damiani is set to publish his forthcoming monograph, Alexis Rockman: Works on Paper, in 2020. |
