Join the Flint Institute of Arts Museum + Art School, Flint Institute of Music, Flint Public Library, Sloan Museum and Longway Planetarium  for one epic block party as we close down Kearsley Street and open up our lawns for a powerful community event. Come together at 11am for the Freedom March and visit each institution for a different celebratory experience all day long. Activities for all ages, rain or shine!

Collaborate with the FIA and your fellow community members on an oversized paint by number, create your own chalk art with many emerging Flint artists, and enjoy making a meaningful Kuumba beaded bracelet to take home with you.

Play games and enjoy a balloon artist and face painting on the lawn of Gloria Coles Flint Public Library to kickstart your summer reading adventure!

Engage with the inspiring author, Leon El-Alamin, author of Tears Dry and Wounds Heal: The Story of My Life. Leon is the founder of the M.A.D.E. Institute, a transformative organization dedicated to helping formerly incarcerated individuals experience renewal. Located in the Gloria Coles Flint Public Library.

Enjoy live music and entertainment on the Longway Planetarium lawn, headlined by Flint’s own Mama Sol and other talented artists including the Eclipse Band, sponsored by Flint Institute of Music, and more! Dancing and celebration is encouraged!

Bounce houses and other fun games and hands-on activities for kids. Browse the vendors and food trucks to discover a taste of Flint’s local food and artisan scene.
