The FIA thanks the citizens of Genesee County for voting on the Arts Education & Cultural Enrichment Millage!
This positive action will have a substantive and lasting effect on the quality and sustainability of many organizations, including the Flint Institute of Arts. It is gratifying that everyone in Genesee County will have a stake in our cultural future. For me, this millage should be considered an investment in our community’s future and a guarantee that our cultural organizations, founded many decades ago, continue to provide high-quality experiences in the arts. Today, there are no other cities of our size in the United States that can afford to build what we have here in Flint. With free admissions and discounted event costs, the millage provides an opportunity for everyone in Genesee County to spend their valuable leisure time engaged in rewarding and meaningful experiences.
