In late October 2020, the FIA asked members to contribute to an important infrastructure project—the replacement of the FIA’s exterior lights and expansive sidewalks along the Kearsley Street entrance. The project entails the installation of energy-efficient, long-lasting, and brighter lighting fixtures that weren’t available when the original fixtures were installed.
Lead funds for Light the Way came from the Whiting Foundation, Susie’s Hope Fund, the Nelson Family Foundation, and Security Credit Union as well as a grant award from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs.
All the funds have been raised and the project is scheduled to be completed in May!
The FIA is grateful to the members for their investment—one that will improve safety and appearance, and continue to light the way for many years to come.
