FIA Reopening July 6

Hello Everyone,

Your support during the weeks of our closure has been an inspiration to all of us at the FIA. I hope that you have enjoyed our virtual offerings including flintarts.org, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and FIA @ Home. With the lifting of Governor Whitmer’s Stay Safe, Stay Home Order, we have begun planning for our reopening and look forward to welcoming you back to the FIA Galleries on July 6.

During the last few weeks, communities nationwide have been affected by the death of George Floyd. The tragedy has cast a bright light on systemic racism and inequality in America. We stand together with those in our own community and across the world who are working to bring peaceful and enduring change now and for future generations. Your museum is not only a place that houses great art, but one where people can seek solace and reflection, where diversity and inclusiveness are championed, and all are welcome.

The FIA’s commitment to exhibitions, programming, and opportunities that promote community collaboration encouraging meaningful dialogue and positive change is at the core of our mission. It has been said that art speaks, conveying a message that opens the eyes and touches the heart. If you have any ideas you would like to share, please feel free to contact us. We cannot do this alone.

Thank you again for your support. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Sincerely,

John Henry Executive Director, Flint Institute of Arts
